Remarks : A recommended route is a route of undefined width, for the convenience of ships in transit, which is often marked by centerline buoys (IHO Dictionary, S-32, 5th Edition, 4448). A recommended route describes the regulation of navigation for non-hydrographic reasons such as the prevention of collision or the avoidance of pollution risks.
